The weather was balmy and set the scene for perfect couple of hours for a late afternoon best trick competition featuring skaters from the local area.

Following a series of recent skateboarding development clinics the Kwinana locals were invited to showcase their skills in competition format up against other skaters from surrounding suburbs.

Some awesome tricks were thrown down on the super long 4 metre rail (board slide heaven) and A-frame and you can really see just how far these girls and guys have developed their skills and tricks over time. With a range of prizes from stickers, vouchers, brand new decks and one lucky winner taking away a portbale grind box everyone got rewarded for their achievements.

The camaraderie, respect and acceptance of each other and the different skill levels is impressive to observe and it’s awesome to to see young people giving their full attention to an activity and just nailing whilst having such a great time!

For details of upcoming skateboarding clinics and competitions check out Kwinana Pop Up Skate Park (events tab). This park was built just under 12 months ago and is just a temporary feature whilst awaiting the replacement park to be rebuilt this year.

Thanks to Ben and the crew at Skateboarding WA for their support of developing our local talent.
