LyriK ImpaKt has been designed to equip young people with the tools and encouragement to further engage with their community in positive ways. Through the support of the staff and their peers, young people will be made to feel more confident as young leaders in the Kwinana community and will begin to understand how they can also influence others to make positive choices.
LyriK ImpaKt engages groups of young people (either in a school context or as an after school opportunity for young people who have been nominated for a LyriK Award ) in leadership development by working on aspects such as communication, teamwork and trust. Some of the local schools that have taken part in the Lyrik ImpaKt course so far are Kwinana Christian School, Medina Primary School and Gilmore College.

LyriK ImpaKt also incorporates offsite Leadership Days into its plan and uses them as a tool to further solidify the learning that has been taking place throughout the other shorter sessions. Typically, these leadership days are facilitated by Teamworks Development who take our participants through a series of team and personal challenges at one of their two sites.
